The course will be held at Lammi biological station, 120 km from Helsinki, in a peaceful location "in the middle of nowhere".
Organized jointly by Finnish Doctoral Programme in Computational Sciences (FICS) and National Graduate School in Materials Physics (NGSMP).
Guest lectures including:
Pietro Faccioli, Ph.D., Dipartimento di Fisica, Universita' di Trento (Langevin and Fokker-Planck equations, and the path integral mappings to calculate transition rates). Abstracts of Faccioli's lectures are found here.
Stefan Geiss, Professor, University of Jyväskylä and University of Innsbruck (An introduction to stochastic differential equations driven by standard Brownian motion). Abstract of Geiss's lectures are found here.
Andreas Neuenkirch, PhD, Technische Universität Dortmund, Fakultät für Mathematik (Numerics of stochastic differential equations) Abstract of Neuenkirch's lectures are found here.
Otso Ovaskainen, Professor, University of Helsinki, Metapopulation research group (Applications of stochastic differential equations in biology) Abstract of Ovaskainen's lectures are found here.
