Practicalities of attending the summer school:
Each FICS student must present his/her research on Wed 18 Aug. Formats of presentation include: a poster, a spotlight talk (8 min presentation + 2 min questions) or a computer demo.
FICS students are encouraged to bring a laptop which is needed during the CSC intensive course and the problem solving workshop. The laptop should have an ssh connection.
The expenses (inexpensice travelling according to the receipts, accomodation at Rantapuisto, meals at Rantapuisto and participation) of the students of FICS and FIGS will be covered by their graduate schools, as well as all expenses of the guest lecturers, and of a limited number of EIT ICT Labs co-location node participants. The participation including meals is free to all FICS and FIGS supervisors.
The hotel (and Helsinki in general!) has some shortage of rooms. Students and supervisors living in the Helsinki area are thus encouraged to stay overnight at home.
